Burger King bets to doubling in Italy
Burger King has launched a five-year plan to pass from 170 to 300 restaurants in Italy. By doubling the number of restaurants by 2023, the US fast food giant aims to consolidate its presence in Italy. The five-year plan will lead to the creation of a network with about 300 premises against the current 170, of which 35 directly managed.
“We have a business plan that includes 30 openings a year – underlines Filippo Maria Catenacci, head of franchise at Burger King Italia.
The goal is to cover the entire peninsula with an eye of special attention to the south”. Soon Burger King will open in Cagliari, followed by cities and shopping centers of Puglia, Calabria and Campania (with Naples and Salerno). In Sicily, where there are already five restaurants, Burger King is evaluating other openings to reach ten locals within a couple of years.
The development also focuses on the North-South and East-West road fronts and to cover the northern cities such as Padova. For this reason, the company is intensifying the search for new partners with which to accelerate development on the territory.
